Stanford Lightning

Stanford Selects Youth Field Hockey (Team Stanford Lightning) is organized as a non-profit association.
We are dedicated to the promotion of field hockey for youth ages 7+ through a positive environment of training and competitive play experiences. All kids will receive comprehensive training and play opportunities. Selection for participation in certain tournaments including Cal-Cup and Festival is based on attendance and skill development due to events that have limited roster opportunities.
We are a parent run, volunteer club! Parent participation is expected in effort to keep costs down and to promote a family experience. Our goal is to keep expenses at a minimum, while still offering expert coaching services.  Please review our Volunteer page to see how you can support your child’s hockey experience.
Each season’s fees are determined by our costs which include insurance, field time, coaching, equipment and tournaments.  Scholarships are available to families with financial need.  There is additional expense for families who travel to the out of town tournaments.
